Abstract Photography

Program Summary
Abstract photography challenges photographers to move beyond literal representation and explore shape, color, texture, and light in new ways. Many photographers struggle with abstraction because they are accustomed to photographing recognizable subjects rather than learning to see patterns and visual relationships within a scene

In this presentation, award-winning photographer and educator Joe Edelman shows photographers how to train their eyes to recognize abstract opportunities in everyday environments. Participants will learn how to isolate details, simplify visual elements, and use light, color, and composition to create compelling abstract images. By shifting their perspective and learning to see differently, photographers will discover new ways to expand their creativity and develop a deeper understanding of visual design in photography.
