Articles and Interviews

Over the years, my work has been featured in some of the most widely read photography publications on the web, including PetaPixel, Fstoppers, DIYPhotography, LifeHacker, Shutterbug, and Imaging Resource, among others. That kind of reach doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because the work connects with real photographers who are trying to solve real problems.

The articles listed here cover topics I genuinely care about: portrait lighting, studio setups that don’t require a small fortune, retouching techniques that actually save time, and the fundamentals that separate good portraits from forgettable ones. A lot of these pieces started as tutorials or videos on my YouTube channel before getting picked up and shared across the photography community. It’s one of the things I’m most proud of. Getting to teach photographers at scale, through platforms that reach millions of readers, is exactly why I do what I do.

I was also selected as part of the YouTube NextUp Class of 2016, which recognized up-and-coming creators making an impact on the platform. That recognition was a turning point that opened a lot of doors and helped me reach a much wider audience.

Whether you’re new to my work or just looking to dig a little deeper, this page is a good place to see where I’ve been featured and what I’ve had to say.

Press and Media Coverage

In 2016, I was selected as part of the YouTube NextUp program, which recognizes up-and-coming creators making a real impact on the platform. Here’s some of the coverage from that.

Interviews

Beyond the written word, I’ve had the chance to sit down with some great podcast hosts and talk shop about photography, education, and what it really takes to grow as an image maker. Here are some of those conversations.
